On the morning of October 15 I found a phalarope moulting out of juvenile plumage at Humber Bay Park West in Toronto.
On the field I identified it as a Red-necked phalarope (Phalaropus lobatus), and was confirmed as such by a later observer.
Although my pictures the bill does not look as thin as it appeared in the field, the new fresh grey scapulars are bordered by white, and this definitely points towards lobatus.
